Being married on an island on the east coast of Australia, offers not only a unique location but the opportunity to experience the pinnacle in island romance... the beauty in sunsets over the water. All the relaxed romance of an island wedding can be found with ease on beautiful Bribie Island, just 45 minutes drive north of Brisbane!
To capture your special moments in the splendour of the sunset, keep lighting in mind when planning your wedding day timeline, 'as natural light will look much better in your photos, the best light for your wedding portraits is 1-2 hours before sunset.'
Depending on your photographic desires, and our photographers can assist with this, finishing your ceremony 1-3 hours before sunset will ensure you have time to get great natural light photos, as well as beautiful sunset portraits. This is especially important to make the most of Bribie Islands varied scenery. However if you are planning on having a sunset ceremony - Jane Gilbey Photography also recommends 'taking all of your formal photos before the wedding, so you don't end up trying to take your formal photos in the dark!'.
'I absolutely love sunset photos. They are some of my favourites to take. This is the time of the day that you get that lovely golden afternoon light - it is so soft, flattering and magical! It will make you all look amazing - no harsh shadows! Then as the sun drops I love to get some stunning silhouette shots.' Stacey Schramm Photography
'Couples are so lucky to be married on Bribie Island, to have the option of sunset photos taken with sunset skies on the Ocean Beach, or the calm side where the sunsets over the water, and the island's landmarks like the Bribie Island Jetty... and it's all within a 5-10 minute drive.'
